SAXOPHONE RESOURCES
Here are some great resources & exercises for saxophonists to get to know their instrument and hone their technique and tone. All these patterns can be played by E-flat and B-flat saxes. Some exercises go up to a high F#, but if your sax doesn’t have that key, just go to your high F. If you have any questions about the best way to practice these exercises, feel free to reach out to shannonchapmanmusic@gmail.com . For insight about how I practice at home, follow me on Instagram @shannonchapmanmusic, and check out the story highlight called “Woodshed”!

The following are some truly ancient and embarrassing videos filmed during my undergrad and master’s degrees at Brandon University. Although low-quality, they do show the methods I would use for a jazz transcription. Enjoy!
