BIO
Shannon Chapman is a dynamic neo-soul artist and producer making a unique impression on the Canadian music scene, with tracks featured at The Listening Party Music Producer Showcase (2022 & 2023), and full band performances presented by the Markham Jazz Festival, the Next Wave Jazz Series, Sunset Sessions, and Fresh Up Fest.
Her sophisticated approach to songwriting and production have drawn positive press and industry attention, earning her placements in Apple Music Editorial Playlists including ‘New in R&B’, ‘Smooth and Easy’, and ‘Grown N Sexy’. A multi-instrumentalist, Shannon’s signature palette of sultry woodwinds, lush jazz harmony, smooth vocals, and laid-back grooves melt together to create a mellow and funky soundscape.
Unabashedly genuine, her style of storytelling is wistful and introspective. On EP ‘Ebb & Flow’ (March 2020), Shannon tastes the bitterness of bad habits and self-isolation. On EP ‘Playing Games’ (November 2024), a sweeter perspective emerges, embracing fresh starts, self-empowerment, and authenticity.
Professionally, Shannon is regarded as an incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, and conscientious musician, who brings a high level of skill and personal accountability to every project in which she participates.
Shannon grew up in rural Manitoba, and is currently based in Toronto.
